Climate change. Food waste. Power and privilege. Zombie students. I look deeply into problems to find opportunities in disguise. I demonstrate thought leadership, ethical design, and multiple layers of creative thinking through human-centered design practices.

About me

Mira Azarm is the founder of GoodJinn, where she serves as creative instigator, social designer and inventive educator. Mira spends much of her time commuting between two institutions of higher learning: the University of Maryland and Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). She wears many hats at each school, serving as a Design Thinking facilitator in UMD’s Academy for Innovation & Entrepreneurship and a faculty member in the MA/MBA in Design Leadership program at MICA. She’s known for developing and prototyping interdisciplinary, experiential coursework, bringing social design methodologies, design thinking and the creative process to undergraduate and graduate students alike. Mira also specializes in projects related to food access and sustainability, having recently completed a Robert W. Deutsch Fellowship through MICA’s Center for Social Design. She’s also a skilled facilitator, conference presenter, and award-winning graphic designer.
